Hackettstown, NJ: In honor of Division III week, I want to take an opportunity to express my appreciation and congratulations on your accomplishments.
As Division III student-athletes, you play college sports for reasons that go beyond guaranteed scholarships and extensive media coverage one could expect to receive at larger schools. You do it, because you love the sport and to develop yourselves in mind, body and soul on the field, in the classroom and in our community.
You have shown immense skill and team work on the fields, mats and courts that resulted in such accolades as All American team, visits to the NCAA championships and conference quarterfinals.
Your off the field contributions to the community have also been as significant. In the classroom you have excelled include many being named to the Dean's list and inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society. Additionally, you have donated over a thousand hours of community service through your participation in events such as the Hackettstown hospital holiday celebration, Caravan for Hope, Trunk or treat, snow shoveling, Midday and Midnight run and many more. Throughout it all you have shown that the true meaning of sportsmanship both on and off the playing fields and I want to commend you and thank you.
In closing, I hope you feel appreciated today and every day and know that your Centenary Community and biggest fans, join me in thanking you for all you do for our community.
Go Cyclones!
