Softball Sweeps Marywood To Clinch First Seed

4Hackettstown, NJ: The Cyclones wrap up Conference play with a sweep over the Marywood Pacers, to clinch the top seed in the Atlantic East Conference. The Cyclones will host the #4 and #6 seeded teams on 5/10-5/11.With the series sweep, the Cyclones have also improved their winning streak to four games.  

Game One

After falling behind in the top of the third inning, the Cyclones would go on to have an action packed bottom of the fourth as they scored all five of their runs in the inning. The Clones offense would record six base hits, The fourth inning rally started following a Jaelynn Miller two-run blast. Toni Cacopardo, Madison Passanante, and Chloe Wright would each go on to drive in a run for the Cyclones. Starting in the circle was Jaelynn Miller, who tossed another complete game for the Clones. Miller picked up her eighteenth win of the season as she recorded, eight strikeouts, allowed four runs with just three being earned, and allowed just four base hits. Game Two

Senior pitcher Julia Campen picked up her sixth win of the season, after throwing a one-hit complete game shutout in five innings of work. Campen struck out two batters, and threw a total of forty-three pitches in her five innings of work. The Cyclones offense was firing on all cylinders, as they batted twelve of twenty-seven. Of the eight runs scored, seven were batted in as they went on to end the game by way of mercy rule in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Up Next

The Cyclones will travel to Jersey City this upcoming Monday for a make-up game, against NJCU at 3 & 5 PM.
