Baseball Walks It Off In Game Two To Win The Series Against Marymount

Hackettstown, NJ: Following yesterday's upset win over the #25 Marymount Saints, the Cyclones walked off the second game of the series to win the series as they keep their playoff hopes alive. The final score of game two was 7-6.

Game One

The Cyclones pitching would be led by Senior pitcher, Nick Guiro who tossed five and one-third innings for his first win of the season. Guiro allowed five hits and one earned run in the game. The Cyclones continue to swing well, batting .357 as a team after recording ten hits in the game. The offense was led by Junior catcher, Nick Payne who batted four for four tying up the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. Junior middle-infielder, Dominick Zinna, was also a key factor in the win batting three for four with a game tying home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Hitting the game winning single, was Dom Chiego who hit a hard ground ball that the diving third basemen could not make a play on. Of the team's seven runs, all seven were batted in, and the Clones would strikeout just once in seven innings of action. Game Two

The Cyclones once again found themselves in a close game, going into the final innings of the series finale. The Cyclone offense wrapped up the final game with a total of nine hits, three runs batted in and six base on balls. As a team, the Cyclones would add three extra base-hits and two stolen bases. Junior pitcher, Jake Keenan started the game for the Cyclones, going four and two-third innings pitched. In relief for the Cyclones were first year pitchers, Anthony DiGrande and Drew Oppenheim who each allowed just one earned run.  Up Next

The Cyclones will look to carry their momentum in to a non-conference game against the Rangers of Drew University, this upcoming Tuesday April 23rd.
