Women's Basketball Dominates Cairn At Home

Hackettstown, NJ: The Cyclones pick up their second win of the season following a dominant second half performance. Their record now improves to 2-0 on the season. 

Inside the Box Score

The Clones concluded the first half of the game with a four point lead over the Highlanders (34-30). The Cyclones would blow the doors open in the second half, as they outscored the Highlanders 40-21. As a team, the Clones dominated the Highlanders in every stat posting fifty-six rebounds, fifteen steals, twenty total assists, and eight three pointers made. Down below, the Cyclones dominated the paint for four quarters recording thrity-six points in the paint, and seventeen second chance points. In transition, the team posted a total of twelve fast break points, and twenty-two points off turnovers. The team would also receive a huge contribution from the bench, with thirty-four bench points being recorded. 

Game Standouts

McKayla Mooney, would put on a show for the Cyclones from behind the arc, scoring twelve points on 50% shooting from the three point line. Mooney's four three point makes were recorded in eight minutes played.

Brie Opdyke, would go on to lead the team in points scored with seventeen. Opdyke would also, add eight total rebounds, three assists, and two steals to her stat line. 

Vatijah Davis posted her first double-double of the 2024-25 campaign after scoring sixteen points, and coming down with twelve rebounds (7ORB-5DRB). 

Kaylie Elsbree was a defensive menace, as she concluded the game with six steals, one block and four rebounds. Elsbree also did a great creating looks for the team, dishing out six assists.
