DOYLESTOWN, Pa. –
Alyssa Bizzarro and
Kim Stallworth each recorded a double-double but it was not enough as the Centenary University volleyball team fell in a hard-fought 3-2 decision at Delaware Valley on Wednesday night.
Delaware Valley took the first set, 25-18 but the Cyclones battled right back for a 25-17 set two victory. The Aggies took a 2-1 lead in the match with a 25-18 third set win. Centenary continued to battle and tied the match up with a 25-21 victory in the fourth set. Delaware Valley eventually claimed victory in the match with a 15-6 win in the fifth set.
Bizzarro finished with 11 kills and 11 digs for the Cyclones while Stallworth contributed 18 assists and 17 digs.
Mya Burnett had a team-high 16 kills while
Martina Josifoska posted a season and match-high 24 digs.
Cat Nemil led Delaware Valley with 54 assists and 19 digs while
Olivia Deffendall had 18 kills and nine digs.
Centenary is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 24 when it hosts York (N.Y.) for two matches. First serve goes up on match one at 11 a.m.
