FLEMINGTON, N.J. – Junior
Jon Fleck hit for the cycle and drove in four runs to lead the Centenary University baseball team in a 16-7 loss to Keystone College to open Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Friday afternoon.
Keystone struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning.
Nick Carlini had an RBI single in the inning and later came around to score.
The Cyclones answered back with three runs in their half of the first. Fleck started the frame with a double to left field and came around to score on freshman
Paul Links' single to left center. Junior
Chris Miller reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded and senior
Ryan Jasiecki scored on the play, which tied the game at 2-2. Links crossed the plate on a wild pitch as Centenary took a 3-2 lead.
A three-run home run from
Dakota McFadden gave Keystone a 5-3 lead in the top of the second.
Fleck pulled the Cyclones to within one, 5-4 with a solo home run in the bottom of the second. The junior now has four home runs in his last two games for the Cyclones.
Keystone sent nine men to the plate in the top of the third and scored five runs for a 10-4 advantage in the contest.
The Cyclones got a run back in the bottom of the fourth as Fleck drove a two-out single to right center and Miller scored on the play.
The Giants added single runs in the top of the fifth and sixth for a 12-5 advantage.
Centenary put two runs on the board in the bottom of the sixth as Fleck completed his cycle with a triple to center field. His three-bagger scored senior

Jonathan Pezzato.
Keystone tacked on four runs over the final three innings and claimed the 16-7 victory.
Jared Rowley earned the win on the mound for the Giants as he surrendered seven runs on five hits in six innings. He finished with 14 strikeouts in the contest. Senior
Frankie Iannone took the loss for the Cyclones after giving up five runs in two innings of action.
McFadden led Keystone with three hits and five RBIs while
Devin Reed had four hits and four runs scored out of the leadoff spot.
Fleck led the Cyclones at the plate, as he was 4-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. The junior reached base in all five of his plate appearances as he was also hit by a pitch. Links added a hit, a run scored and an RBI for the Cyclones.
The Cyclones and Giants resume their series tomorrow, Saturday April 6 when they play a doubleheader at Keystone starting at 12 p.m.
