Paul Links each drove in a run as the Centenary University baseball team fell to Pennsylvania College of Technology on Thursday afternoon in Myrtle Beach.
Penn Tech got the scoring start with a run in the top of the second. However, the Cyclones answered right back in the bottom half of that frame. Brown singled to center field and Links crossed the plate on the play.
A pair of freshmen gave Centenary a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
Christopher Gass drew a lead-off walk and came around to score on Links' triple to center field.
The Wildcats plated four runs in the top of the fourth and took a 5-2 lead in the game.
Samuel Ziegler drove in his second run of the game and later scored in the inning.
Penn added six runs in the fifth inning en route to the 11-2 victory.
Jacob Carles had a two run double in the frame and came around to score as
Richard Lennon reached on an error by the Cyclones.
Cody Nelson earned the win on the mound for the Wildcats after giving up two runs on eight hits in seven innings of work. Freshman
Jared Miller took the loss for the Cyclones after surrendering five runs on eight hits in 3.2 innings of action.
Carles had three hits, two RBIs and two run scored for the Wildcats while Ziegler had four hits, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Links finished with three hits and the RBI for the Cyclones while sophomore
Joe Saffioti had two hits.
The Cyclones are back in action as they wrap up their spring break trip with a doubleheader against Wells on Friday, March 15. Game one gets underway at 12 p.m.
