HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University wrestling team saw its first action of the year as the Cyclones took part in the Public Eliminations Saturday night.

Prior to the start of the action on the mat, the Cyclones took a minute to recognize alumni Etiini Udott and Max Nauta. Udott was recognized for becoming the first Centenary wrestler to reach 100 career wins and being a two-time All-American while Nauta received the program's Alumni Award for continuing to give back.

On the mats, junior Dylan Luciano (125 pounds), sophomore Cameron Bruffy (141 pounds), sophomore Stanley Wojdylak (157 pounds) and junior Kenny Long (184 pounds) all were unchallenged and will be part of the Cyclones' starting lineup on Nov. 2 at Rutgers.

In a battle at 133 pounds, sophomore Jacy Jones took down senior Bobby Demeter, 13-4.

At 149 pounds, freshman Ryan Anderson defeated senior Michael Foca, 7-3.

Since they were untested in their weight classes, senior Jeremy Nurnberger (165 pounds) and sophomore Haakon Mathewson (174 pounds) wrestled off. Nurnberger picked up the 3-2 win on point for riding time.

Justin Hopman won the battle of sophomore at 197 pounds as he defeated classmate David Oppis, 11-2.

Freshman Jase Crouse recorded a first period pin over sophomore Matt Angelov at 285 pounds to close out the action.

After this year's squad was done, the alumni took to the mats with alum JD Zitone serving as the honorary official.

The alumni matches pitted Nick Priest and Allan Jordan against each other. Nauta took on Jose Vega and four-time All-American Chris Burdge battled Charles Cannella.

The action closed out with Udott battling fellow All-American Tim Lutke.

The regular season begins for the Cyclone wrestlers on Saturday, Nov. 2 as they head to Rutgers for a quad meet.
