Second Half Rally Lifts Keystone Over Men's Soccer, 4-3

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Junior Tom Parry had two goals and an assist, but it was not enough as the Centenary University men's soccer team fell in 4-3 hard fought battle versus Keystone College on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play.

Prior to the start of game, the Cyclones recognized seniors Matt Miller, Luke Cruver and Nick Rothrock.

The two teams battled back-and-forth early on before the Cyclones broke free for the first goal at 22:25. Parry launched a long ball that carried into the box and over the Giants goalkeeper for the score.

Centenary added to its lead just under two minutes later as sophomore Jahn Lopez played a ball in that Parry was able to poke home for the goal.

Keystone pulled to within one, 2-1 on an Andrew Lupinacci goal at 38:20.

That was all the scoring in the first half as the Cyclones took a 2-1 lead at the break.

The second half started much like the first did as both teams did battle on each end of the field.

Keystone tied the game at 2-2 on a goal from Carlos Bonilla at 54:48.

Centenary went back on top, 3-2 as sophomore Shane Wilson headed home a ball played into the box by Parry at 59:12.

Keystone tied the game at 3-3 on a Daniel Zuniga goal at 76:58.

The Giants scored what proved to the game-winning goal at 79:28 off an Emmanuel Onwubiko shot.

The Cyclones got off one more shot in the final 10 minutes, but Keystone's Erick Gomez was able to make the save and the Giants claimed victory.

Gomez finished with three saves to earn the win in goal for the Giants. Sophomore Paul LiTrenta made four saves in the loss for the Cyclones.

Parry's two goals for the Cyclones gives him 13 for the year, that ranks fifth in single-season history at Centenary. His 28 points on the season ranks 10th in single-season history at Centenary. Lopez picked up another assist which gives him nine for the year. He is now tied for second in single-season history at Centenary.

The Cyclones are back in action when they close out the regular season by visiting the College of Saint Elizabeth on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. Centenary's seeding for the upcoming CSAC Tournament will be determined by Tuesday's results.
