Speirs and Field Hockey Program Get Donation from Longstreth

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University field hockey team, which will begin play in the fall of 2019, received an equipment donation at the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Convention last week.

Head coach Stephen Speirs wrote an essay and based on his essay, the program was awarded 20 sticks and 20 stick bags from Longstreth, the leaders in field hockey equipment.

"As a new college field hockey coach member with a brand new field hockey program I was warmly welcomed by everyone at the convention," said Speirs. "I was overwhelmed by the amount of support and guidance that was offered to me during the convention by the NFHCA association officers, all of the Div I, Div II, and Div III coach membership, and the amazing opportunity offered by Longstreth which allowed me, through a written essay, to introduce our new field hockey program at Centenary University to the National Field Hockey coaching community."

"I am forever grateful to Longstreth and their staff for selecting my essay and making this donation of field hockey sticks and field hockey bags to the Centenary University field hockey program," added Speirs. "I am sincerely touched by this amazing act of generosity which I believe is a true testament to Longstreth's dedication to helping and supporting our new Centenary University field hockey program and our student-athletes while continuing to promote the great game of field hockey throughout the United States of America and abroad."
