HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Junior
Kristin Karszen had a team-high five caused turnovers for the Centenary University women's lacrosse team in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest against Notre Dame of Maryland on Saturday afternoon.
The Gators opened up a 17-0 halftime advantage en route to a 21-0 win.
Megan Morales scored four of the game's first six goals while
Kaitlyn Walter had five first half goals and three assists.
The Cyclones battled hard on both ends of the field as Notre Dame had 19 turnovers in the game, 12 of which were forced by Centenary. The 12 caused turnovers were a season-high for the Cyclones. In addition to Karszen's five, freshman
Sydney D'Ortone and senior
Taylor Heverly each registered two.
The Gators scored four times in the second half of the game.
Marie Sallas made five saves to earn the win in goal for the Gators. Junior
Renee Hack made four saves in the loss for the Cyclones.
Walter finished with six goals and three assists to lead Notre Dame while Morales contributed six goals and nine draw controls.
Karszen added three ground balls and a draw control to go with her caused turnovers. Heverly had three ground balls and the two caused turnovers.
The Cyclones are back in action when they visit Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m.
