HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Senior
Melissa Krueger posted her first double-double to lead the Centenary University volleyball team against King's College on Wednesday night in nonconference action.
The Cyclones battled hard throughout but eventually fell to the Monarchs, 3-0.

Olivia Musto gave King's an early 12-6 lead in the first set. A 4-0 run pulled the Cyclones to within two, 12-10. That run was capped by a big block from sophomore
Leandra Garcia. The two teams team continued to battle before King's claimed the 25-13 set win.

Giani Montalvo pulled the Cyclones to within one, 7-6 early in the second set. A service ace from junior
Katie Alvarez again cut the Centenary deficit to one, 11-10. Freshman
Zaairah Lamothe tied the set at 12-12. King's responded with a 6-2 run and took an 18-14 advantage. A kill from Garcia made it 22-18 in the set. The visitors held off the Cyclones for a 25-18 set win and a 2-0 lead in the match.
Centenary scored the first two points of the third set as Krueger had a service ace. King's responded with a 7-1 run and took a 7-3 advantage. Four straight points from the home team pulled the Cyclones to within one, 12-11. The two teams continued to battle for each point with King's eventually securing the 25-16 set win and victory in the match.
Krueger finished with 12 assists and 13 digs for the Cyclones. Montalvo contributed seven kills and five digs while Alvarez had eight digs and two service aces.
Wiatt Hoffmann led King's with 21 assists and eight digs while
Rachel Galante had five kills and three blocks.
It's a quick turnaround for the Cyclones as they hit the road to visit Wesley tomorrow at 6 p.m.
