Valentina Suizzo (North Haledon, N.J. / Eastern Christian) recorded 19 digs as the Centenary University volleyball team dropped matches to the University of Valley Forge 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-12) and PSU-Abington 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-13) in a tri-match home opener on Saturday.

Suizzo and sophomore
Nicci Veras (Newark, N.J. / Shabazz) combined for 12 digs as the Cyclones were swept in the first match of the day. Junior
Melissa Kreuger (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central) added eight assists, while sophomore
Storm Spooner (South Brunswick, N.J. / South Brunswick) totaled seven digs and four kills. Centenary trailed 6-0 early in set one, but used an 11-4 run to take their first lead of the match at 11-9. The Cyclones hung tight until the Patriots closed the set with a 10-1 run, including Kaitlyn Hess serving for five straight points. Â

Krueger finished with eight digs, seven assists and two kills as the Cyclones dropped the final match of the day to the Nittany Lions. Suizzo and senior
Amanda Fullem (Linden, N.J. / Mother Seton) combined for 14 digs, while Suizzo added three kills and three aces in the process. In the second set, both squads went point for point as Centenary took their largest lead at 15-12 with a kill by Spooner. Abington regained their ground with a 13-2 run to close the set.

Brielle Gensinger (Blairstown, N.J. / Warren County Tech.) recorded an assist, while freshman
Leandra Garica (Plainfield, N.J. / Central Jersey College Prep) tallied a block in the loss.
