SCRANTON, Pa. (Apr. 21, 2017)- Juniors
Tim Maxwell (Glen Head, N.Y. / North Shore) and
Sean Donovan (Howell, N.J. / Howell) went a combined 5-for-9 with nine RBI's as the Centenary University baseball team snapped a three game losing streak with a 17-4 victory over Marywood University in the series opener on Friday afternoon.

Ryan Jasiecki (Ledgewood, N.J. / Roxbury) and freshman
Jon Fleck (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Warren Hills Regional) each recorded two RBI's apiece for the Cyclones who improve to 3-19 overall and 2-11 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Jake Schuster went 3-for-4 with two RBI's and a run scored for the Pacers who fall to 8-18 overall and 4-9 in the CSAC.
Centenary scored 17 runs on 17 hits which is their highest run output of the season since the 14-5 victory over UMass-Dartmouth on Mar. 12
th.
The Cyclones wasted no time putting runs on the scoreboard with back-to-back RBI's from junior
Kevin Sensale (Bartonsville, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) and Maxwell that vaulted Centenary to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. The Pacers were able to get one back in the bottom half of the inning, but the Cyclones extended their lead to 5-1 on an RBI double by Fleck and an RBI single from Donovan.
After both sides traded runs in the fourth and fifth innings, Centenary held a 7-4 advantage entering the top of the sixth. In the sixth, the Cyclones exploded for eight runs on five hits, including a two RBI single from Maxwell, a three RBI double from Donovan, a two RBI double from Tierney and an RBI single from sophomore
Casey Brown (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area). After the dust settled, Centenary held a 15-4 lead. Maxwell and Fleck capped off the afternoon with RBI's in the seventh and eighth innings as Centenary added two insurance runs.
Junior
Luis Santiago (Dover, N.J. / Dover) recorded the first victory of his career, tossing 4.0 innings with two strikeouts and allowing just two earned runs.
After today's performance, Tierney is just 10 hits away from his 100
th career hit.
