LA PLUME, Pa. (Apr. 1, 2017)- Sophomore Renee Hack (Old Bridge, N.J. / Bishop George Ahr) tied a career-high with 20 saves as the Centenary University women's lacrosse team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest to Keystone College, 16-5 on Saturday afternoon.

Emily Hawkins totaled seven points on six goals and one assist for the Giants who improve to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the CSAC. Seniors Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) and Priscilla Ortiz (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) both scored two goals apiece for the Cyclones who fall to 2-5 overall and 2-2 in the CSAC.

Ortiz kept the Cyclones in the game early, scoring both goals in the opening three and a half minutes of the contest to trail 3-2 with 26:37 remaining. The Giants stretched their lead to 6-2, before Voelkner netted her first goal of the afternoon and her 30th of the season to pull Centenary to within three at 6-3 with 18:28 remaining in the first half. Keystone added two more goals before halftime and led 8-4 at intermission.

In the second half, Centenary bookended their goals with Voelkner opening the half with a score and sophomore Krysta Astengo (Clifton, N.J. / Clifton) scoring her second goal of the season and the final goal of the afternoon. Keystone scored another eight goals in the second stanza, including four goals from Hawkins as the Giants ballooned their lead to 16-4 with 10:22 to play.

Ortiz added six draw controls, five groundballs and four caused turnovers, while fellow classmate Kelsey Barofski (White Township, N.J. / Belvidere) totaled three groundballs and two caused turnovers. Junior Katie O'Connell (Nutley, N.J. / Nutley) finished with two groundballs, two caused turnovers and an assist, while sophomore Nicole Soriero (Monroe Township, N.J. / Monroe Township) added three draw controls, two groundballs and a caused turnover.

Hack set her career high in saves during an 18-6 loss to Neumann University on Mar. 19, 2016. She also moved into fourth all-time in minutes played with 1390, surpassing Andrea Senkarik who logged 1356 during the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

Voelkner also moved up in the record books this afternoon. She now is currently tied for third in career points with former teammate Devin Sutko at 223 and in groundballs with former Cyclone and current Cedar Crest Head Coach Danielle Bay at 70.

Head Coach Julie Moir and the Cyclones will return to action on Wednesday, Apr. 5th, hosting the Griffins of Gwynedd-Mercy University at 4:00 p.m.
