AUBURNDALE, Fla. (Mar. 14, 2017)- Sophomore
John Tierney (West Milford, N.J. / West Milford) recorded the only hit of the contest as the Centenary University baseball team was shutout by Washington University of St. Louis, 5-0 at the RussMatt Invitational on Tuesday morning. The Bears improve to 7-4 overall, while the Cyclones fall to 1-5 overall.
WashU took a 4-0 lead after scoring four runs on five hits in the second inning alone. The Bears added another run in the third when Conor O'Hara smacked a solo homerun. Zack Kotin tossed seven innings of scoreless baseball and struck out five batters to earn the decision for WashU.
