GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. (Jan. 7, 2017)- Senior
Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) became Centenary's all-time rebounding leader with 11 rebounds and 13 points as the Centenary University women's basketball team had their four-game winning streak snapped with a 77-57 loss to Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday afternoon.
Nicole Dombrowski finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Griffins who improve to 6-7 overall and 4-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Junior
Rachel Edwards (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Phillipsburg) connected on four three pointers and finished with 23 points for the Cyclones who fall to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in the CSAC.
George entered the game needing just three rebounds to surpass Marissa DiStasio ('07-11) for first on the all-time rebounds list. She took first on the all-time list at the 6:08 mark off the first quarter, off a missed jumper from GMercyU Julianna Hoisington.
George and Edwards combined for 21 of the Cyclones 27 first half points as Centenary trailed 32-27 at the break. Bianca Adams knocked down three triples and totaled 10 points in an opening half that saw Dombrowski and Kucowski combine for only seven points.
