Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals as the Centenary University women's basketball team squeaked past St. Joseph's College, 64-59 on Wednesday evening.
Junior
Nicole Cartaino (Midland Park, N.J. / Midland Park) finished with 14 points and three rebounds for the Cyclones who improve to 11-3 overall. Andrea Iavarone totaled 27 points and 13 rebounds for the Golden Eagles who fall to 4-10 overall.
The Cyclones torched the nets for 56.3% shooting in the first half. George scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds as Centenary used a 20-9 run to take a 35-21 lead with 2:13 remaining. Junior
Julia Presant (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East) joined George and Cartaino with eight first half points as the Cyclones took a 40-26 lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Cyclones took their largest lead of the contest at 54-36 with a 12-0 run over a four-minute span in the third quarter. The Golden Eagles would make a late rally in the fourth quarter with a 21-10 run, which included three triples of SJC's Jennifer Gubell. Despite SJC cutting the lead down to five in the final possession, the Cyclones were able to get stops down the stretch.

Rachel Edwards (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Phillipsburg) added 10 points, while senior
Melissa Rabe (Byram, N.J. / Lenape Valley) finished with nine points and eight rebounds. Junior
Amber Reisenwitz (Cresco, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) totaled a season-high nine assists, six points and five rebounds. Gubell knocked down six triples and finished with 18 points for the Golden Eagles.
