EWING, N.J. (Jan. 28, 2017) – The Centenary University wrestling team went 2-1 at the Metro/NEWA Duals, hosted by the College of New Jersey on Saturday afternoon. The Cyclones improved to 6-2 after completion of the event.

During their first match, the Cyclones defeated Williams University, 25-20. 133-pound freshman
Dylan Luciano (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central) and 157-pound sophomore
Alec Donovan (Brick, N.J. / Brick Memorial) recorded pins for Centenary. Also scoring points were 141-pound sophomore
Max Nauta (Hackettstown, N.J. / Warren Hills Regional), 149-pound sophomore
Christopher Muce (Monroe Township, N.J. / Monroe Township), and junior heavyweight
Anthony Colabella (Flanders, N.J. / Mount Olive), by forfeit, major decision, and decision, respectively.
The Cyclones rolled to a 37-9 victory over Bridgewater State in the second match of the afternoon. Muce, Donovan, freshman
Tom Hinz (Allenhurst, N.J. / Red Bank Regional), sophomore
Etiini Udott (Piscataway, N.J. / Piscataway), and freshman
Jeremy Parkhurst (Holland, Mich. / Hamilton) all recorded falls in their respective weight classes, while Luciano scored a major decision and freshman
Jeremy Nurnberger (Manville, N.J. / Manville) came away with a decision.
In their last match of the day, the Cyclones fell to No. 7 Roger Williams, 25-18. Sophomore
Konstantinos Protogeropoulos (Newton, N.J. / Newton) and Luciano both recorded falls as RWU came away with the tight victory.
