HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Jan. 28, 2017)- Junior
Rachel Edwards (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Phillipsburg) made the game-winning three pointer with 18 seconds remaining as the Centenary University women's basketball team rallied to defeat Cabrini University, 48-45 on Saturday afternoon.

Julia Presant (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East) totaled 14 points for the Cyclones who improve to 15-4 overall and 8-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Nomi Washington totaled 14 points and six rebounds for the Cavaliers who fall to 10-10 overall and 8-3 in the CSAC.
Cabrini opened the fourth quarter with a nine point lead, but the Cyclones used a 9-2 run to climb back into the contest and take the lead at 40-39 on an Edwards triple with 4:47 remaining. Centenary held the advantage at 43-42 with under a minute remaining when Washington nailed a three to give the Cavaliers a 45-43 lead.
On the very next possession, the Cyclones nearly used the entire shot clock as junior
Amber Reisenwitz (Cresco, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) found a wide open Edwards on the left wing. Edwards threw up a triple that bounded off the front of the rim, the top of the backboard, the front of the rim again and the center backboard, before
falling in. After a stop on the other end, Reisenwitz iced the game with two free throws.
Centenary was actually down by 15 early in the second quarter as Cabrini opened the contest with an 18-3 run, before the Cyclones scored their first field goal at the 9:00 mark of the second quarter. Centenary recovered with a 17-5 run over the final 10:37 of the first half to trail 23-22 at intermission.
Senior
Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) finished with eight points and 13 rebounds, while Edwards added eight points, five rebounds and four assists. Junior
Nicole Cartaino (Midland Park, N.J. / Midland Park) chipped in with eight points and six rebounds, while Reisenwitz added six points.
