HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Jan. 21, 2017)- Powered by a 40 point second half, the Centenary University women's basketball team overcame a 14 point deficit to defeat Notre Dame of Maryland University, 64-51 on Saturday afternoon.
Senior
Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for the Cyclones who improve to 13-4 overall and 6-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Zaria Comer finished with 16 points and four blocks for the Gators who fall to 5-10 overall and 3-6 in the CSAC.
The Gators held the advantage for the entire first half, as they posted a 48.0% shooting percentage from the floor and took their largest lead of the game at 26-12 with 6:51 remaining in the second. Centenary ended the half with an 11-5 run, which was capped off by back-to-back jumpers by senior

Amber Reisenwitz (Cresco, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) during the final minute of play, to cut Notre Dame's led to 31-23.
The Cyclones regained their balance in the third quarter with 26 points and 57.1% field goal shooting that vaulted Centenary from down eight at halftime to up eight entering the fourth quarter. The Cyclones took their first lead of the game at 40-39 with 3:36 remaining in the third on a triple by junior
Julia Presant (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East).
Centenary took the lead for good at 42-41 during the very next trip down the floor as Reisenwitz knocked down a jumper in the lane. After that basket the Cyclones didn't look back with a 22-10 run over the final 11:57 of the contest.
Reisenwitz finished with 12 points and seven assists, while both Presant and junior
Nicole Cartaino (Midland Park, N.J. / Midland Park) added 10 points apiece. Barofski chipped in eight rebounds and six assists, while senior
Melissa Rabe (Byram, N.J. / Lenape Valley) pulled down seven boards. Dania Taylor was the only other Gator in double figures with 11 points.
