Priscilla Ortiz (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) and
Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) both totaled six points on five goals and one assist as the Centenary College women's lacrosse team fell to Keystone College in a double overtime shootout, 18-17.
Destinee Hall netted the game-winner for the Giants who improve to 4-6 overall and 3-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Senior
Devin Sutko (Cinnaminson, N.J. / Cinnaminson) finished with five points on three goals and two assists for the Cyclones who fall to 5-8 overall and 4-3 in the CSAC.
After falling behind 4-2 in the first 15 minutes, the Cyclones responded with four unanswered goals over the next seven minutes. Senior
Erica Tripp (Vernon, N.J. / Vernon) scored and assisted on a goal, while fellow classmate
Kelly Conklin (Monroe Township, N.J. / Monroe Township) netted her first goal of the season, to propel Centenary to a 6-4 lead. After three straight scores from Keystone, allowed the Giants to regain the lead at 7-6, Sutko and Ortiz scored goals within the final two minutes to give the Cyclones an 8-7 halftime lead.
The second half saw seven ties and seven lead changes, as Keystone and Centenary wrestled over the lead until the final whistle. Voelkner scored three of her five goals in the second half, including back-to-back goals which gave Centenary a 14-12 lead. Emily Hawkins was the main catalyst behind the Giants comeback as she scored six of her nine goals in the second stanza.
Hawkins goal with 4:30 remaining put the pressure on Centenary to score the game tying goal. The Cyclones got their opportunity after a caused turnover by senior
Jannery Cuervo (North Bergen, N.J. / North Bergen) allowed Ortiz to even the contest and force overtime tied at 17.
Freshman
Renee Hack (Old Bridge, N.J. / Bishop George Ahr) was clutch between the pipes in overtime, as she stopped two shots from Hawkins to force a second overtime. Keystone would break the tie in the second overtime with Hall netting the free position game-winner with 1:05 remaining.
Ortiz finished with six groundballs and three caused turnovers, while Hack made 15 saves and scooped up six groundballs. Voelkner added 13 draw controls, four groundballs, and three caused turnovers, while Conklin finished with three groundballs and three caused turnovers.

Julie Moir and the Cyclones will return to action on Thursday, Apr. 21, against the Cavaliers of Cabrini College at 5:00 p.m.
