WILKES BARRE, Pa. (Apr. 11, 2016)- Junior
Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) totaled six points on four goals and two assists as the Centenary College women's lacrosse team had no answer for the nation's leading scorer, Madeline Brownsey, in a 21-9 loss to Wilkes University.
Brownsey totaled 12 points on 11 goals and one assist for the Colonels who improve to 9-2 overall. Senior
Carlie Schmitt (Stewartstown, Pa. / Kennard-Dale) netted a hat-trick for the Cyclones who fall to 5-6 overall.
Brownsey came into Monday's contest as the nation's leading scorer at 5.40 goals per game. Wilkes scored six goals in the opening six minutes, including four goals from Brownsey. Centenary finally got on the scoreboard with back-to-back goals from Voelkner and Schmitt.
Senior
Devin Sutko (Cinnaminson, N.J. / Cinnaminson) assisted on two of the Cyclones three goals in the first half. Wilkes ended the half with six unanswered goals to hold a 16-3 advantage at halftime.
Sutko, who currently ranks third in assists per game nationally at 3.50, assisted on all three of Voelkner's goals in the second half. Despite trailing by a large margin, the Cyclones actually outscored the Colonels in the second stanza, 6-5.

Erica Tripp (Vernon, N.J. / Vernon) led the Cyclones with six groundballs, while Voelkner totaled seven draw controls. Senior
Kristen Rabenstein (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) finished with two goals, three groundballs and a caused turnover, while freshman
Renee Hack (Old Bridge, N.J. / Bishop George Ahr) made six saves and scooped up four groundballs in 60 minutes of work.
