HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Feb. 8, 2016) – On Monday evening, the Centenary College women's basketball team got a huge 66-50 victory over Keystone College on the heels of a career-high 21 points from senior
Ally Fugnitti (Wood-Ridge, N.J. / Wood-Ridge).
Although the Cyclones won by 16, Keystone actually led by one point after a high-scoring first quarter, but the Cyclones rallied in the second quarter and took a 33-29 lead at halftime.
Along with Fugnitti's 21 points, junior
Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards, while sophomore
Rachel Edwards (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Phillipsburg) rounded out the Cyclones top-three scorers with eight points and six rebounds.
The second half started off much like the first with each team trading baskets. Centenary was able to gain a 46-41 lead heading into the fourth, which is where they took over.
Keystone's Destinee Hall poured in 31 points for the Giants, but they simply got out worked by the Cyclones in the fourth. Centenary scored 20 points in the final quarter compared to nine for Keystone.
