HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Dec. 12, 2016)- Led by four starters scoring in double figures, the Centenary University women's basketball team rolled to a 73-48 victory over John Jay on Monday afternoon.
Senior
Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Cyclones who improve to 7-2 overall. Uju Nwaigwe totaled 12 points and five rebounds for the Bloodhounds who remain winless at 0-9.
John Jay struggled shooting the ball from the opening tip, posting a 32.2% field goal percentage and a 15.4 three-point percentage for the contest. Centenary shot above 40% from both the floor and behind the arc in the victory.
After trailing 2-0 early, Centenary used a 30-11 run in the first half to take a 39-18 advantage into halftime. In the second half, the Cyclones went on a 15-1 run, which gave them their largest lead of the game at 54-18 with 6:30 remaining. Despite the loss, the Bloodhounds actually outscored the Cyclones 30-18 in the final 16:30 of the contest.

Rachel Edwards (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Phillipsburg) canned four triples and totaled 14 points, while senior
Heather Yaros (Hopatcong, N.J. / Hopatcong) added 14. Senior
Melissa Rabe (Byram, N.J. / Lenape Valley) finished with 13 points and six rebounds, while junior
Amber Reisenwitz (Cresco, PA / Pocono Mountain East) totaled seven assists, four points, and two steals. Shaliyah Ruiz totaled 10 points, while Claire Prince added 10 rebounds and seven points for John Jay.
