Mahwah, NJ - The Centenary College (1-2) women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game this evening at the hands of Ramapo College (3-0) by the final score of 78-69.

The early theme for the Cyclones this season is second half comebacks. After being down 41-27 at the break, the Cyclones stormed back to even the game at 53 with 10:53 remaining in the half. Leading the charge for the Cyclones was
Mallory George; she finished with 23 points along with 18 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.

With the Cyclones facing a first half deficit of 14 points, Centenary opened the second half on a 12-0 run to get within two (39-41). Ramapo would respond with five straight points of their own to increase the lead to seven with 14 minutes to play. The Cyclones, however, came right back at the roadrunners posting an 8-2 run with back to back buckets by George including a three point play and a three ball from senior guard,
Kimberly Osieja to knot the score at 53-53 with 10 to play.Â

The Cyclones and Roadrunners would trade baskets over the next few minutes, but Ramapo regained their scoring touch down the stretch increasing their lead to 11 and sealing the win.Â

Freshmen guard,
Rachel Edwards posted 11 points scoring nine in the second half. Freshman
Taylor Pryslak also pitched in with 10 points respectively to round out the top-3 scorers for the Cyclones. Â

Kelsey Barofski added solid points on the night with nine points on 4-of-8 shooting, while freshman forward
Nicole Cartaino notched seven points and seven rebounds and Osieja with six points.Â

For Ramapo it was
Jackie Jerkovich who led the way for them as she finished with 17 points, five rebounds, and went 6-16 from the field. Ramapo also had three other players that crossed the 13 point boundary as they used a 53.8 shooting percentage in the first half to help solidify their advantage.
Centenary as a team shot 36.8% from the field on 28-of-78 shooting, while shooting 50% from the free-throw line (8-of-16). Ramapo shot 24-50 (48%) from the field and sank 28-39 (71%) from the charity stripe.Â

After facing two tough non-conference opponents, the Cyclones look to work on creating consistency throughout both halves of play.Â
