Centenary University Athletics Hall of Fame
The 1979 Equestrian Team was named Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Champions over a field of 113 teams in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The team was led by Coach Ralph Gillis who died suddenly the night before the championships after attending a reception for the teams. In the face of the death of their coach, the team competed and won the National Hunt Seat Title.
