Mathewson had a strong showing to lead the Cyclones to a 3-1 mark at the Mid-Winter Classic on Saturday. The senior posted a perfect 4-0 mark, including a win over the #13 wrestler in the latest NWCA rankings. 

Mathewson started his day with a win by fall in the Rhode Island dual. He followed that up with a win by major decision in the victory over Elizabethtown. Mathewson picked up his biggest win of the day with a fall in 5:48 over #13 Jason Geyer of NYU. He wrapped up the day with a tech fall win in the Thaddeus Stevens dual.
