Julie Moir

Julie Moir just completed her second year as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Centenary University.  Moir has over 11 years of coaching experience, including proudly serving as the Head Coach for Scotland under 19 women’s national team at the U19 World Championships in Baltimore, Maryland in 2003. 

In 2017, Moir had two student-athletes named to the All-CSAC teams and six named to the CSAC All-Academic Team. Abby Voelkner '17 was named to the All-CSAC second team, as she became Centenary's all-time leading goal scorer.

In 2016, Moir guided the Cyclones back to the CSAC Tournament for the first time since 2014. Centenary won five games, including four in conference and earned four All-CSAC selections. Coach Moir recorded her first career victory with a 16-5 defeat of Cedar Crest College on Mar. 15, 2016.  

Last year, after returning to coaching, Moir coached 7/8th grade girls for Tiger Junior Lacrosse Club in her hometown of Hackettstown.

Prior to coming to the United States in 2005, Moir was the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach and taught physical education at The Lady Eleanor Holles School in London, England from 1995-2001, and then again in 2003-2004.  Her varsity team appeared in the United Kingdom National Schools Lacrosse Championship Finals every year, and were ranked as high as 3rd in the United Kingdom in 2001. 

During that time, she also served with Middlesex County Girls Lacrosse Association and South of England Girls Lacrosse Association, in various coaching and administrative roles.  She organized and successfully ran the Junior Territorial Lacrosse Tournament in 2000. After moving back to her native Scotland in 2001, Moir was selected as Head Coach for the U19 Scotland Women’s National Lacrosse Team.

As a player, Moir represented her country at every level including U18, U21, Scotland “B” (captain) and eventually, the Scotland national Team.  She was an alternate at the World Cup in 2001, and won a gold medal in 1996, and a bronze medal in 2000 at the European Championships.

She is a 1995 graduate of St Luke’s College, University of Exeter, England where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Moir is currently a member of Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and a certified US Lacrosse coach.      

Moir resides in Hackettstown, NJ with her two children.
