Josh Spivack

Josh Spivack, a longtime member of the Centenary University men’s soccer program, was named the Cyclones’ new head coach in February of 2018.

Spivack had a stellar three-year playing career for the Cyclones and has served as a member of the Centenary coaching staff since 2009.

In his first season as the leader of the Cyclones, Spivack led the squad to a berth in the 2018 CSAC Tournament. Josh Weiss, Devon Warne, Matt Miller and Eric Nugent all earned First Team All-CSAC accolades under Spivack's guidance. Warne finished his career ranked second in program history for shutouts and became the second player in program history to record 300 or more career saves.

Spivack started his coaching career at Centenary in 2009 and worked his way up to the position of associate head coach (2015-2017). Under Spivack’s watch the Cyclones won the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2013 and 2016.

Spivack played for the Cyclones from 2006-2008 and was a team captain during his senior season.

He finished his career with 16 points on five goals and six assists. Spivack recorded a career-high in points (10), goals (three) and assists (four) as a sophomore. He earned NSCAA Scholar All-Region accolades twice during his playing career.

During his three years, Centenary appeared in two conference tournaments and qualified for the ECAC Tournament twice.

Spivack earned his degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management in 2009 and received his MBA in 2014.

Spivack has playing experience beyond his time at Centenary. He joined the Royal Racing FC Montegnee in Belgium and also took the field for Morris County Colonials of the NPSL from 2010-12. In 2012 he led the Colonials of their best season on record as they reached the Division semifinals.

Spivack holds coaching licenses from the USSF and the NSCCA.

He also brings a wealth of club coaching experience to the Cyclones. Since 2014 he has served as the owner of Tactekks Soccer Training LLC, a private and group training company. Spivack has served as the Mount Olive premier head coach, working with the 2001 boys and 2007 girls team. Since 2009 he has been the Pre-K Kickers head trainer, which is New Jersey’s ultimate youth soccer training group for kids ages 3-6. Also from 2010-12, he was the NJ Dynamo head coach, working with the U15 and U18 boys teams.

He resides in Byram with his wife Heather and daughter Olivia.
