Hackettstown, NJ - The Centenary Cyclones kept their season alive in emphatic fashion Friday morning, defeating Immaculata Mighty Macs 16-8 in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament losers bracket to earn the program's first-ever Atlantic East playoff victory.
The Cyclones offense exploded for 16 hits in the win, using a 9 run first inning and timely hitting throughout the contest to pull away and secure another game later in the day.
Derek DePace led the offensive charge, finishing 3-for-5 with four RBI and a run scored.
Myles Castillo delivered another big performance as well, going 2-for-6 with four RBI of his own. Continuing his stellar season,
Dominick Chiego added two hits in five at-bats while driving in four runs.
On the mound,
Carter Sari shut the door on any hopes of an Immaculata comeback. The right-hander tossed four strong innings out of the bullpen, earning the save while allowing no earned runs.
With the victory, Centenary advanced to another elimination game scheduled for 4 p.m. against Marywood Pacers, looking for redemption after falling to Marywood earlier in the tournament.
