Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary baseball team secured a key series victory over Marywood on Saturday, highlighted by milestone performances from Juniors
Myles Castillo and
Joseph Frei, who each reached 100 career hits during the twinbill.
In the opener, the Cyclones earned a dramatic 5–4 walk-off victory. Centenary tied the game in the eighth on an RBI single from Simeon Reed before winning it in the ninth, as Andrew Briggs delivered a walk-off RBI single to bring home Frei. Castillo recorded a hit in game one to reach the 100-hit milestone, while Dominick Chiego led the offense with three hits. Reed and Nick Friscia each drove in two runs, and Tyler Voltaire picked up the win with a scoreless inning in relief.
In game two, the Cyclones fell 6–4 despite another strong offensive showing. Centenary rallied to tie the game with a three-run fifth inning, highlighted by RBI hits from Mike DeSena, Nick Friscia, and Derek DePace. Frei collected a hit in the second game to reach his 100th career hit, while Friscia paced the lineup with four hits. However, Marywood answered with two runs in the seventh to secure the split.
With the series win, the Cyclones continue to build momentum in conference play, backed by clutch performances and milestone achievements from Castillo and Frei.
