Walk-Off Win Sparks Sweep as Centenary Moves to 3-0 in Atlantic East Play

Hackettstown, NJ – Centenary Baseball completed a dominant opening weekend in Atlantic East Conference play, sweeping St. Elizabeth and improving to 3-0 in conference action behind a thrilling walk-off victory in game one and a strong offensive showing in game two.

In the opener, the Cyclones delivered late-game heroics in a 7–6 walk-off win. After building a 6–1 lead, Centenary saw St. Elizabeth rally with five runs in the seventh to tie the game. The Cyclones responded in the bottom half, as Joseph Frei doubled to put the winning run in scoring position before Dominick Chiego delivered the game-winning RBI single to seal the comeback victory. Centenary showed patience at the plate in game one, drawing eight walks while adding timely hits from Chiego, Cole Schulberg, and Simeon Reed. On the mound, Brannon McBride went 6 innings striking out 5. Adam Yarrison picked up the win in relief after closing out the final inning.

In game two, the Cyclones' offense stayed hot in a 10–6 win to secure the sweep. Frei led the way with a 3-for-5 performance and four runs scored, while Chiego drove in three runs and Myles Castillo continued his strong weekend with four hits and two RBIs. Centenary used a three-run sixth inning to break open a tight game and never looked back. Carter Sari earned the win in relief, and Anthony Aguilera shut the door in the ninth to secure the victory.

Across the series, Centenary combined clutch hitting, aggressive baserunning, and strong bullpen performances to control the matchup. The sweep gives the Cyclones early momentum as they sit unbeaten in Atlantic East Conference play.
