Immaculata, Pa. — The Centenary University Men's basketball team delivered a strong offensive performance on Saturday afternoon on the road, outscoring Immaculata University 94–85 in Atlantic East Conference play. With his first basket of the second half, junior Kenneth Rankin surpassed 1,000 career points, becoming one of the elite scorers in program history.
Centenary started strong and never trailed, taking a 37–33 lead into halftime before exploding for 57 second-half points to pull away in the latter stages. The Cyclones shot 44.9% from the field overall and were especially lethal in the second half, connecting on 59.4% of their attempts while pushing the pace and creating scoring opportunities in transition.
Rankin was dominant throughout, finishing with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and a performance that marked a special milestone in his Centenary career. His first basket of the second half gave him 1,001 career points, a testament to his consistency and scoring prowess for the Cyclones.
Senior Justin Carbone fueled Centenary's balanced attack with 20 points, shooting 4-of-5 from three-point range, while Devin Strickland added 19 points and provided key baskets throughout the contest. Jasir Lane chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds to anchor the interior, and Jack Martin contributed 7 points off the bench in valuable relief minutes.
Centenary got off to a strong start behind efficient scoring and ball movement, leading to a halftime margin that set the tone for the second half. In the final 20 minutes, the Cyclones pushed the tempo, hit open shots from deep, and took advantage of free-throw opportunities down the stretch to pull away from the host Mighty Macs.
With the win, the Cyclones improve their Atlantic East Conference record (8–4) and continue their push toward postseason positioning in the final week of the regular season.
