Centenary University baseball came up short in game one of their conference doubleheader against Marymount University, falling 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Nick Payne and Simeon Reed each drove in a run for the Cyclones, who were limited to five hits in the contest. Derek DePace led the offense with a pair of hits, continuing his strong presence at the plate.
Sam Castillo got the start on the mound, going five innings while allowing six hits, three earned runs, and striking out two in a solid outing.
The Cyclones will look to bounce back in game two as they continue to fight for position in the conference standings.
