The Centenary University lacrosse team fought hard in a thrilling game that ultimately ended in a 9-9 tie, as the clock ran out of daylight before the teams could settle the score. Despite the draw, the Cyclones put on an exciting display of skill and determination, with key contributions from several players on both ends of the field.
Leading the offensive charge for Centenary was Brian Rosko, who netted a hat trick, scoring three goals to help keep the game competitive. His offensive firepower was matched by Nick Wickkiser who also netted a hat trick. Marty Zoet found the back of the net twice, as well as Christian Cheney with his first collegiate goal rounded out the scoring for the Cyclones.
In goal, Travis Austin was a standout performer, making 12 crucial saves to keep the game tied. His performance between the pipes was key to keeping the Cyclones in the hunt, particularly with several timely stops that prevented the opposing team from gaining the upper hand. Austin's resilience and composure under pressure were a shining example of leadership on the field.
Despite a back-and-forth contest that had both teams battling tooth and nail, the game ended in a deadlock, with the clock running out before either side could secure a game-winning goal. The players and coaching staff will no doubt be disappointed not to finish with a win, but the effort and intensity displayed throughout the game were undeniable.
As the season progresses, Centenary will look to build on this gritty performance, knowing they have the talent to compete with any team in the league. With strong individual performances and a solid team effort, the Cyclones are positioned to make an impact in upcoming matchups, and will be ready to take on whatever challenges come their way.
