Davis Erupts for 39 in Road Win

Lancaster, PA: The Centenary University women's basketball team surged to a 73–70 victory over Lancaster Bible College behind a historic scoring night from junior forward Vatijah Davis, who poured in 39 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to power the Cyclones to 4–1 on the season .

Davis was unstoppable from start to finish, shooting 17-of-30 from the field and attacking the paint relentlessly as Centenary outscored the Chargers 56–30 inside. Her presence on the offensive glass was equally impactful, pulling down seven offensive boards to generate crucial second-chance points .

After trailing 25–14 at the end of the first quarter, the Cyclones chipped away steadily, fueled by Davis' ability to finish through contact. She scored in every period, including multiple momentum-shifting layups that kept Centenary within striking distance before they erupted for 26 fourth quarter points—their highest-scoring frame of the night.

Jasmine Sampong added 12 points, while Alexa Osafo-Mensah and Kayla Sampong each contributed eight, helping stabilize the offense when Lancaster Bible focused its defensive pressure on Davis .

Centenary's defensive adjustments in the second half proved decisive, as the Cyclones forced key turnovers and limited Lancaster Bible's perimeter threats just enough to complete the comeback.

With her 39-point outburst, Davis delivered one of the most dominant individual performances in recent program history, carrying the Cyclones to a gritty road win and continuing her early-season tear.

The Cyclones will have a short break before returning home on Tuesday, the 25th with a match-up against Franklin and Marshall. Tip off is set for 6PM.
