HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University Women's Volleyball team hosted a competitive Tri-Match on Saturday, taking on conference opponent Marymount University and non-conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). Despite strong efforts across both matches, the Cyclones dropped both contests, falling 3-0 to Marymount and 3-1 to FDU.
In the opening match against Marymount, Centenary fought through several close sets but ultimately came up short.
Vanessa Pagano led the way for the Cyclones, tallying 16 assists while helping to orchestrate the team's offensive attack.
In the final match of the day, the Cyclones put together a spirited performance against FDU, taking a set and staying competitive throughout the match before falling 3-1.
Poppy Skjonnemand led the charge with 20 kills on the day, continuing her strong offensive form. Fellow junior
Jennifer Thistlethwaite reached two major career milestones over the weekend, recording both her 500th career dig and 500th career kill, marking an impressive achievement in her Cyclone career.
Despite the two setbacks, the Cyclones showed grit and energy throughout the day and will look to build on their performances as conference play continues.
