Aston, PA: The Cyclones traveled to Neumann University for their third Conference match-up of the season. The Clones would ultimately fall to the Knights by a final score of 85-57 as their AEC record falls to 1-2 on the season.
Inside the Box ScoreÂ
The Cyclones were unable ot neutralize the Knights offense in their first meeting of the 2024-25 season. After falling behind early, the Cyclones were unable to mount a comeback. Coach Chris Labelle and his Clones have typically been dominant in the second half, outscoring their opponents in ten games this season in the final twenty minutes of action. Unfortunately, the Clones were unable to work their second half magic against the Knights, despite shooting 41.38% from the floor. As a team, the Cyclones once again found success scoring down low, scoring a total of thirty-four points in the paint accounting for over half of the team's points. The Clones would also receive a significant contribution from their role players, scoring twenty-seven points off the bench. On the defensive side of the ball, the Cyclones recorded a total of six steals, and two blocks in the contest. The Clones will look to shake off this uncharacteristic loss, as they travel to Immaculata this upcoming Saturday, January 18th.
Game Standouts
Justin Carbone posted a total of nine points in the contest for the Cyclones. The Junior guard, wrapped up the game shooting four of nine from the floor, knocking down a three pointer for the Clones, and also came down with two rebounds.
In his first match-up against his former team,
Darnelle Forrest wrapped up the contest with a total of nine points coming off the bench for the Cyclones. Forrest shot 100% from behind the arc, and at the charity stripe, while also recording three rebounds.
Once again finding success off the bench, was Junior guard
Devin Strickland who finished the game with nine points. Strickland would also post one steal in his eighteen minutes of action.
The Clones big man,
Jasir Lane, led the Cyclones in rebounds with a total of seven boards. Lane also tied for a team best two assists, and led the Cyclones with two steals against the Knights.Â
