Women's Volleyball Swept On Day One Of Greyhound Premiere

Lancaster, PA: The Cyclones traveled to Moravian University for day one of the annual Greyhound Premiere Tournament. The Cyclones dropped both matches, as they fell to Alvernia, and Lancaster Bible. 

Game One

The Cyclones were swept by Alvernia, as the offense could only put together twenty-six points on twenty-five kill, and one ace. Leading the team in kills were Poppy Skjonnemand (9), Jenny Thistlethwaite (8), and Cameron Fulcher. The lone ace, came from Vanessa Pagano in the first set. Kim Stallworth (10), and Pagano (9) would go on to combine for nineteen of the teams twenty-four assists. Thistlethwaite (8), Skjonnemand (6), and Asia Logan (5) led the team in digs.

Game Two

Similar to game one, the Cyclones offense struggled, as they were swept by Lancaster Bible. Leading the team in kills were Poppy Skjonnemand (12), Jenny Thistlethwaite (7), and Vanessa Pagano (2). The only ace of the match would come from Thistletwaite, at the start of the first set. Cameron Fulcher (3), Kim Stallworth (1), and Poppy Skjonnemand (1) accounted for the Cyclones six blocks on the day. Pagano (10), and Stallworth (7)wouldgo on to pick up where they left off in the first match, as they once again accounted for a majority of the Clones assists. Thistlethwaite (13), Pagano (7), and Skjonnemand (7) combined for over half of the Cyclones digs against Lancaster Bible.

Up Next

The Cyclones will have a quick turnaround, as they are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, August 31st. The Clones will look to pick up the first two wins of the season, and of Coach Armida's career against Moravian and Washington (Md.).
