Baseball Drops Conference Series Against Gwynedd Mercy

Gwynedd Valley, PA: They Cyclones split on the second day of conference play as they drop the series to the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy. The Cyclones fell in a close game for the first game of the day, 3-1, and won game two 5-2.

Game One

Getting the start in the seven inning game was Junior pitcher, Zach Gehman. Gehman went on to toss four innings, allowing three runs and recorded six strikeouts. Jackson Ponzo and Anthony Fraser each threw an inning in relief allowing zero runs in their outing. Behind the pitching staff, the Cyclones recorded eighteen putouts, five assists, and turned a double play. At the plate, the Cyclones offense recorded five hits  on the day which was one more than the Griffins. The lone run of the game was batted in by Jake Keenan. Game Two

Game two would fare a lot differently, as they dominated the Griffins at the plate. As an offense, the Cyclones batted eleven of thirty-six, putting them at a .306 batting average for the game. All five of the teams runs were batted in. Picking up the win for game two was Jake Keenan, who improved his record to 3-0. Keenan threw seven innings for the Cyclones, allowing two runs, while recording six strikeouts. Picking up their fourth save was Adam Yarrison who did not allow a run in his outing. Behind the pitchers, the Cyclones defense once again recorded zero errors while posting twenty-seven putouts. Up Next 

The Cyclones will travel to Union, NJ to take on the Cougars of Kean College this upcoming Tuesday, March 26th.
