Women's Basketball Pulls Out Close Win To Wrap Up 2024

Hackettstown, NJ: The Cyclones hosted Lancaster Bible for their final match-up of 2024. The Clones went on to win the contest by a final score of 65-54, as their record improves to 10-4 on the season.

Inside the Box Score 

The Cyclones jumped out to an early lead, and held it for the first fifteen minutes of play. The Chargers would then inch their way back into the contest as there would be four lead changes, and three tied scores for the remainder of the game. The contest would remain close for all four quarters, but the Clones would pull away in the fourth as they outscored the Chargers 15-10, as they extended their lead to as high as thirteen in the period. In the forty minutes of action, the Cyclones dominated the paint coming away from the contest with fifty points down low, and a total of forty-one rebounds. As a team, the Cyclones would shoot just under fifty-percent on the day going 46.2% from the floor after knocking down thirty of their shot attempts. On the defensive end, the Cyclones would force the Chargers to commit seventeen turnovers while recording ten steals, and four blocks for the game.

Game Standouts

Vatijah Davis came away from the contest, with a total of eighteen points on the day. The sophomore, who is currently ranked nationally for double-double's finished with a total of eight rebounds, two assists, and dominated on the defensive end with two blocks and one steal. 

In thirty minutes of action, Brie Opdyke, once again had a solid performance for the Cyclones. Opdyke finished the game with a total of seventeen points, two assists, and five rebounds. The Senior Guard, would also lead the team in steals for the game with three.

Soifa Mendez had dominant game, in her second game back from an injury. Mendez posted a third best eleven points for the Clones, one assist and four boards. On the day, Mendez would also tie her season best one steal against the Chargers.
