Women's Basketball Squeaks Out Close Win Over Central Penn

Hackettstown, NJ: The Cyclones pull out  a close win against the Knights of Central Penn. The final score of the contest was 52-44, as the Clones record improves to 5-1 on the season.

Inside the Box Score

Coming off their first loss of the season, the Cyclones were eager to jump back into the win column. The Cyclones offense struggled from the floor, shooting just 32.8% across four quarters of play. The Clones did a great job of scoring off of turnovers, scoring twenty-two points following a Knights turnover. The offense also did a good job scoring in transition, as they posted eighteen points on fast breaks. As a defense, the Clones forced the Knights to commit thirty turnovers while also recording twelve steals on the day. As a team, the Cyclones posted a total of forty-five rebounds.

Game Standouts

Brie Opdyke led the Cyclones in points and rebounds on the day. Opdyke concluded the game with twenty-three points, seven rebounds and two assists in the win.

On the defensive side of the ball, Kayla Sampong (3), Kaylie Elsbree (3), Brie Opdyke (3), and Vatijah Davis (2) came away from the contest with multiple steals in the contest. The four clones combined for eleven of the Cyclones twelve steals.
