HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - After strong performances in the opening week of the season, Centenary University men's soccer goalkeeper
Andrew Tarkazikis and cross country runner
Kelly Ann Earrusso were named the Cyclones of the Week. This week's Cyclones of the Week are presented by Real-Time Fitness.
Â
Tarkazikis turned in a strong performance in goal against two quality NJAC opponents over the weekend. He finished the week with a 0.50 goals against average and an .857 save percentage.
He made a pair of saves in a tough-luck 1-0 loss to Kean to open the season. He followed that up by making four saves in a 0-0 tie with William Paterson on Saturday. It was his first shutout of the season and third career shutout as a Cyclone.
Tarkazikis and the men's soccer team are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 10 when they travel to King's (Pa.) for a 4 p.m. game.
Earrusso got her cross country season off to a strong start at the Misericordia Invitational.Â
The junior ran a 24:12.50 and was the second Cyclone across the line. Earrusso showed improvement in her pace from her first race last year.
Earrusso and the cross country team return to the course on Friday, Sept. 16 when they head to Charger Invitational hosted by Lancaster Bible.
