HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Six home dates, including the prestigious Bob Quade Cyclone Open, highlight the 2022-23 Centenary University wrestling schedule released by head coach
John Garriques.
Garriques and the Cyclones will be looking to build on a solid 2021-22 season, in which
Xavier Pena qualified for the NCAA National Championship.
Fans will get their first look at the 2022-23 squad on Friday, Oct. 28 when the Cyclones host the Public Eliminations to determine their starting line-up.
Centenary then hits the road for a pair of tough tests. The Cyclones will take part in the East Stroudsburg Open on Nov. 6 and travel to the prestigious Doug Parker Invite at Springfield on Nov. 19. Centenary claimed a second place finish last year at the event.
Centenary comes home to host the annual Bob Quade Cyclone Open on Dec. 4.
The Cyclones will then wrap up the first semester by heading to the Lycoming Duals on Dec. 19.
January opens up with a tough task as Centenary will take part in the F&M Open on Jan. 6. The Cyclones will then make road trips to Delaware Valley (Jan. 12) and Hunter (Jan. 14).
The Cyclones will host a pair of matches in the final week of January as both Scranton (Jan. 24) and Muhlenberg (Jan. 26) will make visits to Reeves Gym.
Centenary then closes out the month by taking part in the Elizabethtown Invite on Jan. 28.
The Cyclones' final two home meets will come during the first week of February. Centenary hosts long-time rival TCNJ on Feb. 8 and King's on Feb. 9.
The regular season wraps up with a visit to Wesleyan on Feb. 11.
Centenary will take part in the NCAA Mideast Regional on Feb. 25 and 26.
Any wrestlers who finish in the top three of their weight class at the regionals will advance to the NCAA National Championship to be held, Mar. 10 and 11.
