MADISON, N.J. – The Centenary University field hockey team put a valiant defensive effort but it was not enough as the Cyclones fell at FDU Florham on Sunday afternoon.
The Devils scored three goals in the first and three goals in the third to secure a 6-0 victory.
Hailey Flukey had two of the three goals in the first 15 minutes to give the home team the early advantage.
Goalkeeper
Jenyfer Pereira made six saves in the first quarter to keep the Cyclones in the game.
Flukey scored her third of the day in the third quarter as FDU Florham secured the 6-0 win.
Emily Prachthauser and
Emily Schlessinger combined for the shutout in goal for the Devils. Pereira had a six save third quarter as she had a career-high 14 saves for the Cyclones.
Centenary is back in action as it travels to Wells on Saturday, Sept. 11.
