DALLAS, Pa. – A strong first half lifted Misericordia University to a 6-0 win over the Centenary University field hockey team on Tuesday night.
The Cougars scored four times in the game's first 15 minutes for an early advantage.
Olivia Kempf had a pair of tallies for Misericordia in that stretch.
The home team got two more goals in the second quarter and took a 6-0 lead at the break. Goalkeeper
Jenyfer Pereira made seven first half saves for the Cyclones.
Centenary had a chance to get on the board in the third quarter as
Michaela Thiessen fired a shot on goal but
Olivia Gretz was able to make the save.
Neither team converted in the fourth quarter as Misericordia claimed the 6-0 win.
Gretz made the one save to earn in goal. Pereira finished with eight saves in the loss for Cyclones.
Centenary has a quick turnaround as it hosts Neumann tomorrow, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m.
