PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. - The Centenary University women's soccer set the school record for single-game goals in a 16-0 win at the University of Valley Forge on Saturday afternoon.
In addition, sophomore
Salma Eddahiri tied the school record for single-game points with 11. She is the first Cyclone to record 11 points in a game since
Chloe Christopher had 11 against Keystone in October 2019.
"I've never played against a team that was so positive and worked so hard as Valley Forge," said head coach
Kevin Davies. "I hope all of us learn a lesson from them."
The Cyclones wasted little time in getting on the board with three goals in the first 10:07 of the game. That stretch saw freshmen
Ashley D'Allesandro and
Eve Haddad score their first collegiate goals.
Centenary tacked on seven more goals in the first half for a 10-0 lead at the break. Graduate student
Ellie Roberts recorded her first hat trick as a Cyclone in the first 45 minutes while Eddahiri had two goals and two assists.
The Cyclones scored six more times in the second half of the contest. Senior
Jill Pullis scored twice and completed her hat trick while Eddahiri tacked on two more goals and an assist.
Centenary claimed the 16-0 win.
Senior
Rachel Colt was not forced to make a save while recording her eighth career shutout.
Marian Aparezuk posted 20 saves in the loss.
Eddahiri led the Centenary efforts with four goals and three assists while Roberts had three goals and two assists. Pullis finished with three goals while Haddad had two goals and one assist. Freshman
Cassandra Ferguson and senior
Brelyn Cusano each finished with a goal and two assists.
After opening with a couple on the road, Centenary is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 15 as they host Stockton at 4 pm.
