SCRANTON, Pa. – Goalkeeper
Jenyfer Pereira had a career-high 32 saves to lead the Centenary University field hockey team in a 7-0 loss to Marywood University on Saturday night.
Pereira's 32 saves are believed to be the third most by a Division III player in a single-game this season.
Marywood scored one in the first and four in the second for a 5-0 lead at the half.
Allie Rehnert had a pair of goals for the Pacers during that run.
Pereira had 19 saves at the half, including 12 in the second period. The 19 stops in the first 30 minutes were already a career-high.
Marywood added two more goals in the third quarter for the 7-0 advantage.
Rachel Yohn was not forced to make a save to secure the win in goal. Pereira made 13 saves in the second half to reach the 32 saves mark.
Centenary is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 16 when it hosts Wilson at 1 p.m.
