HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University Athletic Department and the baseball program were saddened to learn of the passing of former head coach Dave Sawicki.

Sawicki guided the Cyclones from 2002-08 and compiled a record of 142-100-1 in that stretch. He led Centenary to two appearances in the NCAA Regionals after winning the Skyline Conference in 2005 and 2006. Sawicki saw Nigel Archibald become the program's first All-American in 2004.

Sawicki is survived by his wife, Jennifer and daughters, Katie and Madelyn.

Visitation for Sawicki will be on Friday, Sept. 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Hackettstown. The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. at Cochran with the burial to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Waretown.
